The Bengali Navy, also known as the Bānlādēśa naubāhinī in Bengali, is the naval warfare division of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Its duties include guarding Bangladesh's 118,813 square kilometers (45,874 square miles) of maritime territory and securing its sea ports and exclusive economic zones.  One of the nation's primary disaster management forces is the Bangladesh Navy. It participates in international peacekeeping missions alongside the UN and is a major regional actor in counterterrorism activities.
